i will have a few physical copies soon if someone wants an autographed copy, just let me know.
bunny vs. technology–published by raw earth ink–should be soon available through lulu.com.
i have been playing with the idea of writing a picture book for the past 17 years.
& here it is 🙂
i am still tweaking my novel.
i am still looking for an agent.
also, i would love to trade art for some editorial advice if anyone qualified wants to read it. it’s a quick read at like not quite 58,000 words.
(candice, your name has been dropped a couple of times…just email me if you have time & interest)
in the meantime, what does any novel need if not some illustrations! 🙂
ps. fun fact…though i have written 6 novels, this is the first one i have written in the 21st century using a laptop instead of a notebook, typewriter, or word processor. this will also be the first one to be published.
for some fun summer reading

just putting it out there,

the invisible exhibitionist
you are totally encouraged to review it over on goodreads
in fact
all three of my books
as well as anthologies i was included in
are on goodreads
check out my author page 🙂
the invisible exhibitionist was, in part, my response to social media. being a highly sensitive introvert, social media was especially difficult for me. why was everyone happy but me?
so instead of posting selfies with perfect hair, i inked how i saw myself, warts & all. instead of photos of my delicious meal or fantastic vacation, i posted free verse that glorified all of my short comings as a mother. as a daughter. as a friend & lover.Â
i didn’t want to show everyone how well i was doing, i wanted to reassure others that they were not alone in their struggles.
the invisible exhibitionist is available through lulu.com or contact me for an autographed copy.Â
image is “feral” one of the self-portraits from my book
so i have art hanging at a local very hip cafe called magpie gelato.
it’s pretty exciting for me. it has been a long time since i have put my art in a frame.
and then, this spring-ish, my art will be in a book!
so much is happening.
& best of all, i am excited about it instead of terrified!
at 12
i decided to be a novelist.
i was sure
i would be famous
by my 20’s.
at 28
i rediscovered my love
of writing comics
i was no longer so sure
i would be
famous
but at least
i would be having a good time
at 50
i finally published my first book
followed by another
before i turn
51.
first a book of comics
then a book of short stories
next
a novel?
a collection of art?
it seems
i finally
have
my momentum.
buy my book of comics–“confusion perfume”–the story of a single woman & her dog (not cathy) as well as a sampling of other neurotic comics.
buy my book of short stories & flash fiction–tangled together–stuff i have been working on (or hiding in a trunk) for the past 30 years.
write me kind reviews & wait with bated breath for my next literary contribution.

this is a collection of short stories and flash fiction i have been writing over the past thirty-ish years.
the stories range from dark to quirky (sometimes both) and are a good reflection of just how my mind works as well as sometimes being more memoir than fiction being that i often use my writing to exorcise those pesky demons.
also! pictures!! i did an inking per story.
if you want an autographed copy, message me (quixoticmama@gmail.com)…otherwise! pick a vendor 🙂
